The VA will also reimburse the cost of fabrication and delivery of pre-placed crypts up to the amount of $625,670.

“New Mexico veterans have sacrificed so much in service to our country, and we owe them and their families a lasting a debt of gratitude,” said Heinrich. “I’m proud to welcome $16.7 million to establish the Carlsbad State Veterans Cemetery, ensuring veterans in southeastern New Mexico have a final resting place where their service and sacrifice can be honored.”

“New Mexico’s veterans have served our country with dignity and honor, and we have a responsibility to ensure they receive the recognition and respect they deserve,” said Luján. “This $16.7 million federal investment will help ensure veterans in southeastern New Mexico have a final resting place close to home. I’m honored to welcome this investment and will continue working to ensure New Mexico’s veterans and their families receive the benefits and support they have earned.”
